Oh Moose…
If you’ve visited recently you will have met Moose. Our dear floppy friend who has a penchant for abandoned flip flops, plastic flowerpots and flannel shirts.
She’s generally very good and has grown out of the chewing phase but when she trotted past the Cork cottage yesterday on her night shift, she just couldn’t resist the little treasure our dear guest had left on the outside terrace table….
I was putting on my pyjamas, just about to slip into bed when out of the corner of my eye I could see Moose at her “chewing station”. I was immediately filled with dread… What has she found now? Some horrible smelly carcass or even worse, my courgette seedlings?
I leant out of my window and yelled “MOOSE!”. She turned her big head and smiled. Like really smiled. Not that shy grin she usually makes when she knows she’s done something bad. But a full, human pearly white smile! I couldn’t understand at first, my eyes were playing tricks on me. I rushed downstairs and opened the door to the terrace. She had fled the crime scene, but left the evidence. A pair of false teeth, gums and all.
Oh. No. Neither Eliott nor I have dentures so I could only conclude they belonged to older gentleman staying in Cork cottage…. What am I going to do? I will have to confess. Moose certainly isn’t going to!
I’ll let you know how it goes… wish me luck!
