Yoga with Daisy

My Yoga Journey

I was 12 when went to my first Yoga class, joining a small band of yogis in Seville who met up regularly, one of whom was my Dad.

Finca el Moro has been a place of retreat since I can remember and I’ve experienced many teachers over the years. Just to single out a few, Angie Beadle (Iyengar), Antonia Pilbrow (Vinyasa) Sissel Fowler (Hatha) Annelies Visser (Ashtanga) and Clive Sheridan who gave Satsang in the Advaita Vedanta tradition on hot summer afternoons.

My practice really sustained me during my final intense year at University studying Drama and French. I went to India to teach English and Theatre in Madurai, the site of the great Meenakshi Temple dedicated to Parvati, Shiva’s consort and a year later did my Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, followed by a trip to Dharamsala to attend a short retreat with his Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Needless to say I fell in love with India, so I came up with a plan with my friend Vimal the tailor and created Pushkari, garments made from recycled saris which I sell in Europe with a part of the proceeds going to support a school for young girls. I now have an excuse to always go back.

I have had a passion for skiing and the mountains all my life and spend the winters teaching skiing and yoga in the Swiss alps and the spring and summer season at home in Finca el Moro teaching yoga and hosting retreat weeks for other teachers.
