A short daily walk often accompanied by Violetta, Nick's donkey, to carry water and other essential supplies, over the rolling hills, the wild flower meadows and sweet chestnut groves of the sierra. An area of outstanding natural beauty with a wealth of wildflowers and birds. It has been likened to a sombrero - a central ridge with a
hatband of pretty white villages.
The Walks are not strenuous and take place on good paths. They are suitable for any reasonably fit person. There is some uphill, but no scrambling! We walk for between 2 to 4hrs daily, 6 – 9 miles.
Nick and his family have lived at Finca el Moro since 1989 and farm it organically. He has been leading walks in the area for over 15 years and knows all the hidden corners that you might otherwise miss. He brings an informed approach to his guiding, explaining many of the features of the fauna and flora and agriculture found in the sierra.

There is a class a day usually in the late afternoon once you have returned from your walk, had some lunch in the garden and a chance to chill out for awhile by the pool, The yoga is taught in english by experienced teachers who are invited to teach for the week. In the morning before breakfast there is a short meditation session followed by pranayama. Then there is time for breakfast before we leave for our walk at about 10.30. The yoga practice and the walking together encourage aspects of mindfulness and concentration to try to simply stay present at all times during the day.

Finca el Moro has a reputation for excellent vegetarian food. The farm is 75 acres of olives, sweet chestnut trees, and cork and we farm sheep, black Iberican pigs and breed horses. We are as self-sufficient as possible for ourselves and our guests and produce our own olive oil and table olives. We have a large organic walled vegetable garden and the farm is dotted with fruit trees - lemons, figs, plums, quinces, cherries, peaches, apples and pears.
