Tuesday - 4 hours riding. On broad wide forested paths to Castaño, the highest village of the sierra with wonderful views to the Templar castle of Cortegana and west across the sierra to Portugal. A bar-stop in the village square and then to canter home through the chestnut groves, carpeted with wild flowers in spring and a host of wild mushrooms in the autumn, with sweeping views south. Back to the Finca for a late lunch and for what remains of the afternoon at your leisure.

Up and over the northern face of the sierra through corridors of aromatic cistus and lavender with plunging views across the Sierra Morena – the scene of many a skirmish between Moor and Templar - and down into the flower - filled Huelva river valley for a picnic lunch and the chance of a refreshing dip. Then return home through the pretty village of Cortelazor and perhaps on the way to find a bar for a coffee-stop.onTrail-smlThursday - 3 hours riding. Either simply spend the morning relaxing at the Finca, bird-watching we have an impressive list of over 65 spp spotted here, sunbathing, or a dip in the pool, or to our pretty market town of Aracena by car – 10 kms away. A chance to shop (spanish leather boots, bags, saddlery, ceramics, wines, serrano hams and sausages) or visit the spectacular limestone caves, climb up to the Templar church and castle on the hill above , or simply watch it all from the pavement cafés. Lunch at the Finca and then in the late afternoon we ride to the village of Fuenteheridos to take an aperitif in the square on horseback before returning to the Finca for dinner.
Friday
- 5 hours riding. Leave on quiet forested paths and then across the sierra to the southern side to the charming village of Linares surrounded by orange orchards and pomegranate trees, a drink in the village bullring and onto Alájar for lunch at the C16th shrine of Our lady the Queen of the Angels. Finally back home over the ridge and home to Finca el Moro.
Saturday - Leave after breakfast for the evocative city of Seville. The narrow streets of the old Arab quarter perfumed with orange blossom and the walls covered in jasmine tangles. A chance to buy wonderful ceramics, to stroll the streets lined with palm trees or just sit and watch it all from the pavement cafés. Leave Seville in your own time and we suggest if you don't already know it that you stay overnight, we have a list of recommended hotels that are on the "Travel to El Moro" pages.
