Nature teaches us simplicity and contentment
as in its presence we realize we need very little to be happy

Retreat Holiday

One of the greatest relaxations is to be simply in the present moment something so hard to do in our busy lives: So………
Turn off your phone and leave your laptop behind and we are happy to take messages should someone need to get in touch.
There is an atmosphere of profound peace and quiet in the valley, free from distraction, that encourages time spent in contemplation.
A morning yoga class focusing on breathing and meditation with instruction as to how to remain mindful during the rest of the day.
Sit and absorb the view from your sunny terrace while you take time to really enjoy your breakfast, which you make yourself from fresh organic ingredients supplied to your cottage.
Spend the morning walking mindfully, following one of the many walks described in our booklet. You might choose to walk to a village or take the donkey with you and let her pace dictate as you follow paths through dappled shade.
Return home to the farm to find an organic picnic lunch supplied to your cottage as the afternoon stretches before you, time to lie by the pool and read.
Every afternoon a flowing Yoga class, 90 mins, in our beautiful yoga hall built from chestnut wood sustainably harvested from the farm. Louise, our teacher, is experienced in both Vinyasa and Restorative yoga and her classes are a refreshing blend of both.
Finallly dinner all together on the farmhouse terrace and having spent perhaps much of the day in your own company now is a chance to chat with the other guests while being served an excellent 3 course Dinner, with wine, of farm fresh organic produce.

PRICE per person,  £750, limited availability left for 2017, April 16, April 29th, May 28th

Self catered family Retreat holidays

For families looking for something a little different we offer our lovely cottages each with their own pool and provide free Yoga classes every day. It’s a chance to try yoga for those that have never done it and for those with experience a led practice in our beautiful yoga hall is a real treat. Enjoy simple pleasures together and slow down…..wake to the sound of a cuckoo and listen to the nightingale at night, go for a walk to the village with Violetta our donkey, pick your own vegetables from the garden, enjoy lengthy barbecues under the stars, talk and listen to one another. A simple holiday that’s all about having a bit of time to enjoy those things that we miss in our busy lives…. a chance to have a conversation rather than simply making arrangements !

Walking and Riding

The sierra is  an area of outstanding natural beauty with a wealth of wild flowers and birds. It has been likened to a sombrero – a central ridge with a hat-band of pretty white villages. Our guests can both walk and ride from the farm

The Walks are not strenuous and take place on good paths. They are suitable for any reasonably fit person. There is some uphill, but no scrambling! Our directions are for walks for between 1 to 5hrs  2 – 9 miles.
The riding is on our own andaluz horses and I suggest you taken a look at our riding pages which will tell you all about it

The Yoga

All Yoga and Meditation is optional but we encourage you to try it
In the morning there is a short meditation session followed by some stretches and pranayama. There is an asana class every day in the late afternoon. The yoga is taught in English by experienced teachers who are invited to teach at el Moro.
The yoga practice encourages aspects of mindfulness and concentration to help simply stay present at all times during the day.

From Tree to Table

Finca el Moro has a reputation for excellent vegetarian food. The farm is 75 acres of olives, sweet chestnut trees, and cork and we farm sheep, black Iberican pigs and breed horses. We are as self-sufficient as possible for ourselves and our guests and produce our own olive oil and table olives. We have a large organic walled vegetable garden and the farm is dotted with fruit trees – lemons, figs, plums, quinces, cherries, peaches, apples and pears.
