For small groups of friends,
Violetta,
my donkey, and I are happy to guide you for the week.
You can walk unencumbered as we carry your bits and pieces
and maybe a picnic if we are not going find a bar for tapas
at lunchtime.
I
have been walking in the sierra since the late 80's and know
it and those that live here very well indeed.
Despite having walked many of the “caminos” countless
times I still enjoy wandering through the sierra. My itineraries
will vary depending on the time of year but the walking is
quite gentle, Violetta sets the pace! You can expect to walk
for between 4 – 6 hrs daily, with a good lunch in the
middle and we return home to the farm and your comfortable
cottage each afternoon.
We pass through a great variety of country and I take you
to special corners of the sierra, that otherwise you would
miss. There is a wealth of bird life and a wonderful diversity
of wild flowers. Hidden valleys of blossoming cherries, sweet
chestnut groves and park like stands of cork oak with eagles
overhead and pigs fattening on the acorns underneath. Arriving
at the pretty whitewashed sierra villages for lunch. The Sierra
is undulating rather than rugged, so although there are one
or two climbs there is no scrambling of any sort.
